There’s no doubt about it. Shaving has a lot going for it as a method of hair removal. It is so simple. You see hair. You shave it off. it is gone (although unfortunately not for long!) If you are taking a shower or bath (and hopefully most of us do that every day) then it is every easy to spend an extra minute or two shaving your legs and under your arms. So much better than a messy malodorous depilatory cream or the agonizing pain of ripping your hair out with a waxing kit.
A manual razor is so easy to use, why would we bother shelling out good money for a piece of electric equipment which shaves the hair off when we can do the same with a disposable razor costing so little?
Here are a few reasons.
1. Fewer Abrasions
Although a disposable razor is a safety razor, it is still quite easy to cut yourself while you are shaving and leave a small cut or nick in the skin which can be painful and sometimes bleed profusely. With a lady shaver you are unlikely to get these problems.
2. Wet or Dry
It used to be that you could only use a manual razor in the bath or shower and an electric razor without water but now that wet and dry electric shavers are almost the norm, you can use an electric shaver (designed for use in water) wherever you like. However if you try to use a manual razor on dry skin you will soon notice your mistake. It is very difficult indeed. The fact that you don’t have to lather up with a lady shaver is a big advantage in terms of convenience..
3. Cost
Although a disposable razor has a low one-time cost you have to continue buying them on an ongoing basis and you will probably end up spending more on disposable razors than you will on a lady shaver during the course of its lifetime.
