Great Summer Money Making Ideas For Kids

When the kids are out of school, they can usually either find something constructive to do, or they will end up finding something destructive to do.  One great way to keep your kids from wanting to play video games at the same time, getting them out side is to encourage them to make some money for themselves.  There are quite a few money making ideas for kids that could help your child to learn how to work for money, budget the money, and buy things that they want.  Here are some of those ideas for your kids to make some extra cash this summer.

The first is to mow lawns for other people.  This is a great job because it is in continual need throughout the summer since the grass grows back quickly.  If your child does a good job, they can have a steady number of clients and can make a decent amount of money.  It is also something they can continue to do on the weekends once school picks back up again.

Another idea is the classic lemonade stand.  If you can find a street that gets a decent amount of traffic, then you can probably sell a lot of lemonade.  Maybe try different things like Kool Aid, or other refreshing drinks for the hot summer days.

People need their plants watered, and this could be a good job for younger kids who can’t quite mow lawns.  Find someone who wants their plants and lawn watered daily, and you can make some extra money.  It won’t be much time every day, but it does need to be consistent.

Lastly, people want to be able to enjoy their pools, but with leaves and bugs getting into the pool, people usually don’t want to have to clean their pools.  If you can get setup to go twice a week to a neighbor’s house to clean the pool, you can make some decent money and you may even be able to use the pool if they let you!

Be creative, and you can find great jobs to do over the summer to make some extra cash.
